UK/Ireland Trip - Day 2 (London to York)

This morning was the first of our "wake up at 6 am, bags outside the door and breakfast at 7 am, and on the bus by 8 am" routine.

Our first stop on the tour was to Anne Hathaway's Cottage in Shottery.  For those that may not know, Anne Hathaway was the wife of William Shakespeare.

We then went to Stratford-Upon-Avon and saw and toured the birthplace of William Shakespeare.  Stratford-Upon-Avon was quaint, but quite the tourist destination.  It was very crowded.  We wanted to eat lunch in a cute cafe, but we didn't have much time to visit Shakespeare's birthplace, see the sights of the village, AND eat.  So we opted for Subway, which offered quick "take away" service.

After Stratford-Upon-Avon, we journeyed through picturesque terrain towards York.

In York we visited the area known as The Shambles, York Minster, and walked the wall.

We finished off the night in Harrogate with a dinner with our tour group.
