The Queen was at Holyrood Palace to have a tea while we were there. They had flags out and we saw a lot of young men in kilts and young ladies dressed in their best.
At Edinburgh Castle we were able to watch the Changing of the Guard, which was very interesting. The views of Edinburgh from atop "the rock" were breathtaking.
After Edinburgh Castle we had some free time to explore the city. We grabbed some lunch at Hard Rock (and Sarah got a t-shirt) and then headed out for a walk.
Just when I thought the day couldn't get any better...it did! We drove out to the foothills of the Scottish Highlands for dinner and entertainment at a sheep farm that was established in the 1400s. The "barn" where we had our dinner was built in 1604. Fergus and Gregor Wood provided a wonderful meal and lots of songs. It was a great day and evening.
